Sunday, October 19, 7 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Hikers and Equestrians
This is a special one-day activity. The property is not yet open for general public use. There is no scheduled program; visitors will receive maps and explore the designated trail on their own. Minors are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
Parking will be at the Casa Loma Road staging area main and overflow lots. There is no parking on Uvas Road or by the Blair Barn. We ask visitors to check in with staff in the parking lot and sign out when they leave. Visitors will enter Blair from Rancho Canada del Oro. Ranch roads form a 3.5-mile out-and-back trail (7 miles total) with an optional loop at the far end. Parts of the trail are steep with a grade of 30% to 50%.
Be sure to dress for cool weather, bring water and snacks, and prepare for snakes, ticks and mountain lions. Visit www.openspaceauthority.org for information on these hazards. There is a restroom and horse trough at the staging area but drinking water is not available.
A special activity day for cyclists will be held at Blair Ranch on Saturday, November 15.
