Years ago, the San
Mateo County Horsemen’s Association adopted the Clarkia Trail in Edgewood County Park. Adoption
of this trail means that SMCHA has
agreed to take responsibility to actively monitor and maintain this trail.
Edgewood County Park
and Natural Preserve is famous in the greater San Francisco Bay Area as the
place to see fields of spring wildflowers, but the importance and meaning of
the preserve to the community go
well beyond viewing the wildflowers. For
more information on the park, go to friendsofedgewood.org.
Please
join us for a continental breakfast at the entrance to the Clarkia Trail on Canada Rd. at 9:00 a.m. I’m almost afraid to admit that we’re going
to be doing rock work on the trail. The more people we have the easier and
quicker it will go. So PLEASE, PLEASE help! If we have heavy rain before hand
the date most likely will be cancelled until the spring.
Be
sure to bring gloves, a hat, sunscreen, etc…
SMCHA will provide the refreshments and water.
A special note for our Junior Members
& Parents: Many of the
schools now require students to participate in community service
activities. Helping out with our Clarkia
Trail Clean-Up Days is a perfect opportunity for your kids to fulfill their community service requirements and help maintain a great
equestrian trail!
